How to play Occupier

A match is won with two panels. Every island wears an island panel telling you who holds it and how many troops are there, and the islands linked to the one you selected get a forward panel for sending your troops. Here is what every part of them does.

  1. 1

Pick an island to claim it as your own before the competition starts.

  2. 2

Your armies grow over time on every island you control.

  3. 3

Move your army toward a rival island to attack, or toward your own to reinforce it.

  4. 4

Wipe out every rival army and occupy all islands to win the match.

The island panel

Every island wears a panel telling you what is there. Click one of your islands to select it: its panel grows and gets an outline.

Two floating islands with their island panels: your selected green island, with a larger outlined panel showing 48 troops, owner You and island P1, and a smaller red panel on a rival island
  1. 1

The troops on the island, and how many it gains per second.

  2. 2

Who holds it: You, a rival, or Unoccupied.

  3. 3

    The island’s number.

  4. 4

Other islands show the same panel, smaller. Check a rival’s troops before you attack.

The forward panel

With one of your islands selected, every island linked to it gets a forward panel next to its island panel. That is where you send your troops.

The forward panel around a rival island: troop buttons 48, 36, 24 and 12, a Go button, an Auto button, and the island panel showing 17 defending troops held by Player 20 on island P2
  1. 1

How many troops to send: all, three quarters, half or a quarter of your selected island’s army. The bright one is picked.

  2. 2

    Go sends them now.

  3. 3

Auto keeps sending that share: a new wave each time the last one has landed. Click it again to stop.

  4. 4

The troops defending this island. Send more than this to take it; sending to your own island reinforces it.

  5. 5

    Who holds it.

  6. 6

    The island’s number.

Strategy hints

  • Bigger islands grow armies faster, but they are also the first target for rivals.
  • Split your forces to press multiple islands at once, but don’t overextend and leave your own islands undefended.
  • Reinforcing an island you already own is often safer than opening a new front.
  • You can move faster between connected islands, so claiming the islands along a route speeds up reinforcements and attacks further down the line.
